Too many apples? I got you.
โ
My husband and I took a trip to Ellijay, GA, last week. It's one of those fall traditions we look forward to every year. We pick apples, sip cider, and enjoy the mountain air.
โ
Of course, I came home with way more apples than I planned. No surprise there.
โ
First thing I made? My Crockpot Applesauce. Itโs hands-off and makes the whole house smell amazing.
Over the years, Iโve tweaked the amount of cinnamon and water to get it just right.
โ
I love spooning it over oatmeal, swirling it into chia pudding, or using it in baking.
โ
This weekend, since we still had some apples left, I also made a batch of my Apple Crisp.
This version skips the butter and refined sugar and lets the apples do most of the sweetening. I use a little maple syrup in the topping to bring it all together.
โ
Donโt get me wrong, I love a classic buttery crisp, but this one feels lighter and still hits the spot.
